Peach Cobbler

I know not everyone is fond of the concept of cooked fruit, but as a true southerner there isn’t anything more refreshing than a cobbler!

Ingredients:

Cobbler:

  • 1 cup flour

  • 3/4 cup milk

  • 1 stick melted butter

  • 1 tbs cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

  • 1/2 tbs vanilla

  • Pinch of salt

Peach Filling:

  • 2 cans of sliced peaches

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 tbs cinnamon

  • 1 tbs nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Drain one can of peaches and leave the juice of the other in, pour into a mixing bowl and set oven to 350.

  2. In the bowl with peaches, add the brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

  3. Mix well and set off to the side.

  4. For the cobbler, add all the dry ingredients into a mixing bowl first followed by the wet, and mix well.

  5. Butter the bottom of your baking dish and add the cobbler mix first.

  6. Pour the peaches over the cobbler (it will rise through the peaches, trust me)

  7. Use a spoon to SLIGHTLY mix the cobbler with peaches, just enough to bring some to the surface without being fully mixed.

  8. Place in the over for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown

  9. Once done, let cool & serve!
